Effect of Noise on Video Compression
Anton, Matyáš ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
Videos are in fact image signals and as such, they are susceptible to distortions in the form of noise. This thesis' goal was to determine how the presence of noise can affect the results of image data compression as well as what impact might the lossy compression have on the noise present. Four contemporary compression formats were chosen, namely H.264, H.265, Motion JPEG 2000 and DIRAC, representing different approaches to the video compression, especially the contrast between a discrete cosine transform and a discrete wavelet transform.
Multispectral Image Processing
Li, You ; Juránek, Roman (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Invisible watermarking method for images
Trbušek, Pavel ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Malý, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis deals with embedding of invisible watermark into image. The methods used for reach the main objective of this thesis are given in the first part. I mention three methods: Discrete Cosine Transform method, Discrete Wavelet Transform method and Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees method. In the second part I describe implementation of Discrete Wavelet Transform method and Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees method in MATLAB setting. The last part deals with the test of the watermark endurance to geometrical attacks. I summarize the results of the watermark endurance test are very satisfactory even by the disruption of the image quality.
Wavelet Filtering of ECG Signals
Staša, Josef ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this project is introduction to problems about filtering of signals using wavelet transform. This method is very effective and in present it is often exploited. The main imposition is to use wavelet transform for filtering of ECG signals. Practical part of my project is realized wiener filtering based on DTWT in MATLAB software, to show advantages, disadvantages and compare linear filtering .
ECG Signal Distortion Measures
Požár, Pavel ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with electrocardiogram and its distortion, which causes errors, due to which a doctor can make a wrong diagnosis. In the theoretical part electrocardiogram is briefly described, further theory of wavelet transform, introduction to the signal compression and some information about ECG delineation. Methods used for the signal evaluation and therefore determination of the distortion size are described in the main theoretical part. This thesis contains known methods and also a method of own design based on the ECG delineation. Some of the described methods are checked in the practical part. These methods are tested for two different compression algorithms, which cause various distortion. In the final part distortion was tested on the influence on setting the wrong diagnosis.
Digital image watermarking
Číka, Petr ; Krbilová, Izabela (referee) ; Makáň, Florian (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
Digital image watermarking has developed for the purpose of protecting intellectual property rights to multimedia data. The focus of this thesis is searching for an alternative solution of digital image watermarking methods. A detailed analysis of watermarking methods particularly in the frequency domain, and the modification of these methods are the main aim of this work. Improved performance in watermark extraction is one of the main goals. First, the common static image watermarking methods, possible attacks on the watermarked data and techniques for objective measurement of watermarked image quality are shortly introduced. Techniques which use the space domain for watermarking ar described in the next part of this work. It is about techniques which insert the watermark into the least significant bits of an image both in the RGB domain and in the YUV domain. The main part of the thesis depicts modified and newly developed static image watermarking methods in the frequency domain. These methods use various transforms and error-correction codes, by means of which the watermark robustness increases. All the methods developed are tested in MATLAB. Results together with tables and graphs are one part of work. The end of the thesis is devoted to a comparison of all the developed methods and their evaluation.
Monitoring Trends of Electrical Activity of the Heart Using Time-Frequency Decomposition
Čáp, Martin ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Provazník, Ivo (advisor)
Work is aimed at the time-frequency decomposition of a signal application for monitoring the EKG trend progression. Goal is to create algorithm which would watch changes in the ST segment in EKG recording and its realization in the Matlab program. Analyzed is substance of the origin of EKG and its measuring. For trend calculations after reading the signal is necessary to preprocess the signal, it consists of filtration and detection of necessary points of EKG signal. For taking apart, also filtration and measuring the signal is used wavelet transformation. Source of the data is biomedicine database Physionet. As an outcome of the algorithm are drawn ST segment trends for three recordings from three different patients and its comparison with reference method of ST qualification. For qualification of the heart stability, as a system, where designed methods watching differences in position of the maximal value in two-zone spectrum and the Poincare mapping method. Realized method is attached to this thesis.
Image Compression Using the Wavelet Transform
Kaše, David ; Klíma, Ondřej (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with image compression using wavelet, contourlet and shearlet transformation. It starts with quick look at image compression problem a quality measurement. Next are presented basic concepts of wavelets, multiresolution analysis and scaling function and detailed look at each transform. Representatives of algorithms for coeficients coding are EZW, SPIHT and marginally EBCOT. In second part is described design and implementation of constructed library. Last part compare result of transforms with format JPEG 2000. Comparison resulted in determining type of image in which implemented contourlet and shearlet transform were more effective than wavelet. Format JPEG 2000 was not exceeded.
ECG Signal Compression Based on Wavelet Transform
Ondra, Josef ; Hrubeš, Jan (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
Signal compression is daily-used tool for memory capacities reduction and for fast data communication. Methods based on wavelet transform seem to be very effective nowadays. Signal decomposition with a suitable bank filters following with coefficients quantization represents one of the available technique. After packing quantized coefficients into one sequence, run length coding together with Huffman coding are implemented. This thesis focuses on compression effectiveness for the different wavelet transform and quantization settings.
Image Compression Using the Wavelet Transform
Kontra, Matúš ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Bařina, David (advisor)
Wavelet transform belongs to modern methods used to compress data. It's application modifies data in such way, that we can use and store them in much more efficient way. Focus of this thesis lies in theoretical basis required to understand this method and its implementation. Next section shifts focus to quantization and coding - operations used to further reduce size of our data, which are provided by the SPIHT algorithm.
